The song of the day is “Sunshine” By Cleo Sol, the dichotomy between the slow & somber lyrics tone & production in the verses to that of the upbeat & joyous tone & content of the chorus is very representative of the same dichotomy seen between night and day. This is very representative of the dark season that tend to creep up in our lives, especially for those of us further north receiving more winter weather and longer periods of darkness. Seasonal depression starts hitting.
For a-lot of people, every winter is a pretty dark season literally and emotionally, however spring is the complete opposite. The previous lack of light and social energy makes you appreciate the newfound sunshine. Darkness is inevitable but so is sunshine and to truly appreciate your happy seasons there have to be darker seasons.
Intentionally placed after yesterday’s song of the day, I want to represent and champion the idea that it always gets better eventually. All problems may not get solved, but your ability to deal with them will get better. As cleo said “As long as there is tomorrow the sun will rise again”.
“The sun, you make me feel alive, that's why
(Little more, little more, just a little more)
You are my sun, you help me heal inside (Sunshine, you make me feel alive)
(Little more, little more, just a little more)
Just smile (Sunshine, you make me feel alive)
And you will be surprised
(Little more, little more, just a little more)
That's why the sun always feels alive (Sunshine, you make me feel alive)
Little more, little more, just a little more”
